Llansannan Activity Centre welcomes Scout groups, non-Scout organisations, schools, youth groups, and families looking for an affordable group accomodation in North Wales. Ideally located within an hour of many of North Wales’ most popular attractions, the centre provides an excellent base for exploring the region’s stunning countryside and the breathtaking Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).

 

The centre accommodates up to 40 guests across four bunk rooms and includes:

  • A modern, fully equipped kitchen

  • Dedicated dining area

  • Large hall for indoor activities and group use

  • three separarte toilet areas

  • Shower facilities

  • Small onsite car park

 

Sleeping Arrangements:

  • Main Bunk Room – Sleeps up to 16
  • Leaders’ Bunk Room – Sleeps up to 8
  • Stage Bunk Room (Left) – Sleeps up to 10
  • Stage Bunk Room (Right) – Sleeps up to 6

The centre also has a fascinating history rooted in Scouting, Girlguiding, the links between Llansannan and Liverpool, and wartime Britain. For generations, young people have experienced adventure, outdoor learning, and community in the Welsh countryside. The story of the building reflects a long tradition of service, resilience, and volunteering that continues today.

Llanrwst Trails

Provisional bookings will be held for up to two weeks. If the required deposit is not received within this period, the provisional booking will be cancelled automatically.

 

The deposit payable is:

 

  • £50 for bookings of up to two nights
  • £100 for bookings of three or more nights

All deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated within these Terms and Conditions.

 

A booking is only confirmed once a confirmation email has been issued. By paying the deposit, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

 

Responsibility for Bookings

Where a booking is made on behalf of a group or organisation, that group or organisation will be responsible for:

 

  • The condition of the building during and after the stay
  • Payment of all applicable fees and charges
  • The conduct and behaviour of all members of the party

 

For example, if the 1st Anytown Cub Pack fails to make full payment, Crosby & District Scouts may seek payment from the 1st Anytown Scout Group.

 

For private bookings, the individual making the booking will be responsible for payment, the condition of the premises, and the behaviour of all members of the party.

 

Right to Refuse Bookings

Crosby & District Scouts reserves the right to refuse any booking request from a group or private individual. Where this occurs, the reason for refusal will be provided in writing by the Crosby & District Scout Trustee Board.

If Crosby & District Scouts cancels a booking, all payments made will be refunded in full.

 

If the building cannot be used due to local or national lockdown restrictions, any deposit paid will also be refunded in full.

 

Groups and individuals are strongly advised to arrange appropriate insurance cover in case they need to cancel their booking for any other reason. Except in the circumstances outlined above, deposits and other payments are non-refundable.

For youth group bookings, the leader in charge is responsible for the behaviour and supervision of their party. For private bookings, responsibility rests with the individual making the booking.

 

Under no circumstances should anyone under the age of 18 be left in the building without appropriate adult supervision unless prior permission has been granted in writing by the Crosby District Scouts Lead Volunteer or a representative of the Crosby & District Scouts Trustee Board.

 

All users of Llansannan Activity Centre are required to behave in a reasonable and responsible manner at all times. This includes:

 

  • Respecting and caring for the facilities and equipment
  • Conducting activities safely
  • Fulfilling their duty of care towards others
  • Ensuring suitable risk assessments are in place where required
  • Following all relevant safety guidance and precautions

The Scout Association is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all members and users of its premises, protecting them from physical, sexual, and emotional harm.

 

As a condition of booking, all adults attending a youth group booking must have been deemed suitable to work with young people by the organisation responsible for the booking.

 

Crosby & District Scouts will provide risk assessments relating to the building and its facilities. However, each group or organisation is responsible for preparing and implementing its own risk assessments for any activities or events taking place on the premises.

 

Crosby & District Scouts does not provide or arrange leaders, instructors, or activity organisers. Individuals leading or supervising activities are responsible for ensuring they hold the appropriate qualifications, permits, training, and insurance required by their organisation. Crosby & District Scouts accepts no responsibility or liability for activities delivered by external leaders, instructors, or third parties.

 

Smoking Policy

Llansannan Activity Centre is a strictly non-smoking facility. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the building or on the site grounds.

Crosby & District Scouts accepts no responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, any vehicles or personal belongings brought onto the site by visitors to the centre.

No pets or other animals are permitted on site, with the exception of assistance dogs, including guide dogs.

Crosby & District Scouts are proud of the history of Llansannan Activity Centre and are committed to ensuring it remains available for the benefit of young people for many years to come. A small team of volunteers in Crosby and Llansannan work hard to maintain the building.

All users are asked to ensure the building is left in a clean and tidy condition, as they would wish to find it. In particular:

 

  • All work surfaces and tables must be cleaned
  • No food should be left in cupboards, fridges, or the fridge freezer
  • Crockery, cutlery, utensils, cups, and glasses must be washed, dried, and stored appropriately
  • Fly zappers and insect traps must be switched off at the end of your stay
  • All windows must be closed
  • Floors must be swept, cleaned, and left dry
  • Toilets and shower areas must be cleaned
  • The wood burner must be emptied and cleaned
  • All rubbish must be placed in the external bins provided:
  • Green bin for recyclable plastic waste
  • Orange bin for general waste
  • If bins are full, excess rubbish must be taken away and disposed of responsibly. No rubbish should be left inside the building
  • Water heaters in the kitchen and bathroom must be switched off
  • Mattresses should be left standing upright to allow ventilation
  • Where required, guests may need to switch on the water supply on arrival or drain the system on departure to prevent freezing or leaks during colder months. Full instructions will be provided where applicable

 

Any damage to the building or its contents will be charged to the group responsible. All accidents and damage must be reported as soon as possible, whether or not the reporting party is responsible. Where possible, photographs and a clear description should be provided.

Large refuse bins are provided on the property. Please ensure that all waste is disposed of correctly and in accordance with the labels on each bin and local council waste disposal regulations.

 

Bin usage will be checked at the end of each stay. If waste has been incorrectly sorted, volunteers will be required to correct it. We therefore ask all groups to dispose of waste carefully and responsibly to help minimise additional work for our volunteer team.

Scouting Groups:

Up to 15 people: £110 per night

16 people or more: £150 per night


Other Groups:

Up to 15 people: £140 per night

16 people or more: £180 per night
